The Lindenhurst Swim Club (LSC) is a member of the
Metropolitan Swimming Organization, offering evening practices at the
Lindenhurst High School Pool for competitive swimming. For the little swimmer in
your family, the LSC offers a Learn to Swim Program geared toward children ages
4 and up. This program is taught by all certified swim instructors and has
various groups to fit your child’s individual needs. Whether you are looking to
begin your child in the wonderful sport of swimming or looking for an ideal
competitive sport for your child, LSC has the perfect lane for them.
Team Philosophy: Lindenhurst Swim Club (LSC)
was created specifically to provide quality instruction and training for young
athletes who are dedicated to long-term improvement. The goal is to set up a
structure that facilitates scholarships for student-athletes. We provide an
atmosphere where “coaches coach and swimmers swim”.
Mission Statement: LSC will provide
progressive skills, technique and training based on what is age and ability
appropriate. While providing all of the necessary ingredients for physical and
mental development, such as, effective training, nutritional information, etc.
The emphasis is on the “whole person” i.e. good character, sportsmanship, and
dedicated teammate. The main goal is to have each athlete achieve his/her
potential, with the opportunity to earn an athletic scholarship. In a sense this
is not about where your child can take us, but where we can take your child; we
are a serious competitive athlete oriented team.
Practice Schedules: Each level/group has its
own schedule; we will modify schedules if necessary. These groups and their
schedules are designed to target the needs of the swimmers and allow the coaches
to plan and train accordingly. A monthly calendar will be posted on the
web site and team bulletin board in the pool area.
